Evidence / Lab


The Nampa Police Department operates our own crime lab, associated with our evidence division. The division employs 5 personnel, and is overseen by a Criminalist.

The unit comprises 2 dedicated personnel to handling evidence, 2 to the lab full time, and one doing evidence and lab work.

The evidence techs also help the criminalist with evidence collection at major crime scenes, when needed.

Currently the Nampa Police Department crime lab handles all forms of latent fingerprint processing, marijuana screening, shoe and tire track comparisons, AFIX and verification latent fingerprint comparisons, and some trace evidence processing.

We work four 10 hour shifts. 

Is overtime available?
Evidence Tech’s can get OT when they are called back to service to help with large crime scenes outside of normal working hours.
