Victim Witness Coordinator (VWC)


Victim Witness Coordinator’s at the Nampa Police Department work very closely with our Person’s Crimes Detectives in our Family Justice Center.

They provide crime victims with information concerning their rights and general information on the court process and procedure, ensuring the victim is informed of all developments and decisions regarding their case. They also provide victims with general support and referrals to agencies and providers.

The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.

The nature of the work performed requires that a VWC establish and maintain effective working relationships with the assigned supervisor, other city employees, crime victims, police officers, prosecuting attorneys, social service providers, community groups, non-profit organizations, and the general public.

Work is performed in a general office environment but include responses to crime scenes, victim’s homes, shelters, or hospitals, which may include exposure to dangerous situations and victims of child abuse.

This position does require a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
